When I ran for the Kansas House in 2006 someone called me a “Harry Truman Democrat.” Having known Harry Truman I consider this an honor. I believe in telling the truth and making my positions clear.

I look upon the Senate seat as one of representation. If elected I plan to meet regularly with city officials in Overland Park and Olathe; Johnson County Commissioners; school officials in Blue Valley and Olathe; and the Chambers of Commerce in Olathe and Overland Park as well as the Greater Kansas City Chamber.

My job will be to help business and local government achieve their legislative objectives. I will also set up regular meeting schedules throughout the district where residents can meet and talk with me.

I am not seeking this position as a stepping stone to higher office. I will attend all legislative and committee sessions and vote at every opportunity unlike my opponent.
